I FINALLY got my hands on the Real Techniques Core collection after hanging round eagerly at Boots for over a month. Every time I went into one of the two nearest Boots stores to me it was the only peg empty, but today I got the last one *hooray*. There are thousands of reviews on these brushes and I have read a fair few of them and everyone seems to agree that they are rad (so i'll keep mine short). The two brushes I was most looking forward to trying out were the contour brush and the buffing brush which have been raved about online so I thought it was worth the £21.99 just for the two, but having played around with the other two I think I'm going to use them just as much.
(sorry the first picture is slightly out of focus but light was fading fast)
The packaging has had mixed reviews but I really like the case, although its a little cheap looking it does the job and it can fit in my other essential brushes and I will definitely be taking it away with me when I go on holiday. I also really like that the back bends over so you don't ruin the brushes when pulling them out of the elastic.
The detailer brush was the one I was least excited by as it is too fiddly for every day concealer. This brush will be predominantly used for lipstick as the pointed tip will make it easy to follow the shape of my lips.
I used to have a flat foundation brush and I didn't get on with it very well so I thought I would hate this brush but its just small enough that it can be used under the eye with concealer and on the top of cheek bones with highlighter.
A lot of people apply their foundation with this brush, but I already have the stippling brush which I use for applying my foundation. As I don't often wear powders I'm going to give this a go with my foundation and swap the stippling brush for cream blushes
~i'll let you know how I get on~
This brush is the main reason I bough the set, and I'm not disappointed I don't do contour everyday but I like to when I go out. This brush is the perfect size to go into the hollows of your cheeks and blends really well. I love you contour brush.
I now have enough Boots advantage card points to by another brush and I'm thinking of getting the blush brush because I've heard equal praise for it online. Snaps for Samantha Chapman
Great review. I have the blush brush and it's my favourite one out of the range :) xo
