Wish List 003

001. Leopard print coat Oasis - I've been looking for a leopard print coat for a long time, yes they are hard to style without looking like Pat Butcher but I think the collar on this coat makes it slightly less garish.

002. Split side maxi skirt Topshop - I like wearing maxi skirts to school in the colder weather and the side splits on this skirt are more dress code appropriate than thigh high splits that I just end up sewing up. You can also layer tights or leggings under maxi skirts for added warmth.

003. Urban Outfitters studded bag - I need a new going out bag, and as I find clutches really annoying I thought this studded leather cross body bag could be a contender. It looks quite durable and would go with a lot of outfits and I love the studs and the shoulder strap.

My Schools closed today! I was so excited until I remembered how much work I have to do (boo). I only went out to drop my sister off at work and to pop into Asda but I still had to wrap up warm. My Docs are a savior in this weather, the're surprisingly grippy and not nearly as cold as wellington boots. I love this Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick, the whole collection is wonderful but I love this orangy red colour. Have fun in the snow!

Lilacism

Essie Nourish me, Essie Lilacism, W.I.P at Urban Outfitters Squares

IT'S SNOWING! Well, it's not snowed that much as of yet but if the forecast is to be believed then there may be a snow day on Monday. That would suit me perfectly as I have so much coursework to do at the moment as my Fine Art and Art Textiles mocks are coming up. The're three days each and I have to hand in all my coursework at the end of them too. I also have my Literature mock on the 4th so I'm becoming a recluse for the next few weeks (but procrastination will no doubt lead to blogging).

My nails had become a bit of a state recently so I went without polish for a week or so to let them grow. I thought I would wear my favorite Essie polish in Lilacism and was inspired my the recent snow fall to add some glitter. Instead of doing just an accent finger, which I think can look odd sometimes, I painted both my ring finger and middle finger.

Alex Monroe

I'm not really one for fine jewellery but occasionally my mum buys me something from my favorite jewellery designer Alex Monroe. I only have two but they are my most loved possesions so I thought I would share.  Both my mum and I have fallen in love with Mr Monroe after gazing into his counter in John Lewis. The bumble bee necklace is his most famous piece and has been seen on the likes of Emma Watson and Sienna Miller (oo err). The first necklace I received was the Baby Bee necklace for my GCSE results and getting into sixth form in 2011. The chain has an adjustable length and is made from the same 22ct gold plated silver as the bee pendant. This has to be my favorite necklace, I wear it almost everyday and it looks so sweet poking out from underneath a collar.  The detail is amazing seeing as its so small (it even has little feet)  and I've even convinced two of my friends to get one.

This is my most recent member to my collection which I received for my AS level results back in August. Its the Big Single Feather necklace and is made from the same yellow toned gold. The chain length is also the same as the bumble bee necklace. This necklace is quite dainty and looks best with an open neck, I only really wear this necklace on special occasions and plan to wear it to my prom in July. Again the detail is incredible and it feels very solid. It is also worth noting that when I snagged this necklace and the jump ring bent, Alex Monroe fixed it free of charge so I have endless praise for them.

Wish List 002

001. Topshop Pinafore Playsuit - Everyone and their mum seems to have this playsuit but it's so cute. It's £42, which is quite steep but it would look so good with a breton shirt or a collared shirt. I just can't resist.

002. Rock 'n' Rose Marjorie Floral crown - My prom is coming up (ok it's not but it doesn't hurt to be prepared right?)  and I really want a floral crown, I might try DIYing one but if that goes tits up then Rock 'n' Rose have some beautiful ones. This pink one is lovely but the deep red one is a close second.

003. Real Techniques Blush Brush - it's no secret that I'm lovin' Real Techniques at the moment and the blush brush is next on my list. I wear blush almost everyday and i'm currently making do with a cheap old H&M one which is barely doing the trick. Plus I've got enough boots points to buy it so its technically free right?

Real Techniques

I FINALLY got my hands on the Real Techniques Core collection after hanging round eagerly at Boots for over a month. Every time I went into one of the two nearest Boots stores to me it was the only peg empty, but today I got the last one *hooray*. There are thousands of reviews on these brushes and I have read a fair few of them and everyone seems to agree that they are rad (so i'll keep mine short). The two brushes I was most looking forward to trying out were the contour brush and the buffing brush which have been raved about online so I thought it was worth the £21.99 just for the two, but having played around with the other two I think I'm going to use them just as much.

(sorry the first picture is slightly out of focus but light was fading fast)

The packaging has had mixed reviews but I really like the case, although its a little cheap looking it does the job and it can fit in my other essential brushes and I will definitely be taking it away with me when I go on holiday.  I also really like that the back bends over so you don't ruin the brushes when pulling them out of the elastic.
The detailer brush was the one I was least excited by as it is too fiddly for every day concealer. This brush will be predominantly used for lipstick as the pointed tip will make it easy to follow the shape of my lips.
I used to have a flat foundation brush and I didn't get on with it very well so I thought I would hate this brush but its just small enough that it can be used under the eye with concealer and on the top of cheek bones with highlighter.
A lot of people apply their foundation with this brush, but I already have the stippling brush which I use for applying my foundation. As I don't often wear powders I'm going to give this a go with my foundation and swap the stippling brush for cream blushes
~i'll let you know how I get on~
This brush is the main reason I bough the set, and I'm not disappointed  I don't do contour everyday but I like to when I go out. This brush is the perfect size to go into the hollows of your cheeks and blends really well. I love you contour brush.

I now have enough Boots advantage card points to by another brush and I'm thinking of getting the blush brush because I've heard equal praise for it online. Snaps for Samantha Chapman

Grey Sky

Today I went over to Camden Market with a few of my friends as we hadn't been there in a while and we all have an unhealthy obsession for band t'shirts. I only bought one t'shirt with the Jimmy Cliff 'The Harder They Come' movie poster on it (my Dad's really jealous). I saw some lovely HUGE heels on sale in Office for 20 quid but I've just bought a pair online and I thought two pairs in two days is a little excessive. So watch this space for a shoe unboxing.

I wore my American Apparel riding pants with a grey backless t'shirt I bought the other day from Urban Outfitters. I also had on my black chelsea boots and my denim jacket.  I kept my make up simple but it was the first day I wore my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain and it was fabulous, I want every colour!

FOTD 1/1/13

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a rad night last night and are feeling fresh faced for the new year (or not). I'm spending today with my family, going for a walk in the woods seeing as its not raining today.

2012 was such a good year for me with lovely memories. The Olympics and the jubilee were so good, then Reading with my friends, going to Brighton, turning 18 and all the bits in between. Hopefully this year will even better as its the last year my friends and I are all together before we go our separate ways to university :(. We already have plans this year for the NME Tour, seeing Alt-J, Glastonbury, Reading and Camping (Oh, and passing our A Levels). Bring on 2013!
